MicroTalks Event – June 19, 2024

Our event, "MicroTalks," took place on June 19, 2024, at the premises of the WIFI Steiermark in Graz, Ausria. The event was co-organized with the bit schulungscenter, as they are working on the IQ DigitS project which is also related to Micro Credentials.

The event began with a relaxed coffee and cake reception, providing a perfect setting for attendees to network. The first presentation, titled "From AI to Career: New Paths to Competence Development – How AI is Reshaping Individual Learning Journeys and Professional Growth," was delivered by Dr. Philips from FH Joanneum. Her input was highly relevant, engaging, and underscored the importance of Micro Credentials in a dynamic digital education landscape.

Next, Dr. Georg Müllner from Auxilium provided an overview of the EU's strategy regarding Micro Credentials, serving as a perfect transition to the presentation of the Micro Quest project and its results by Carina Posch, also from Auxilium. The audience was introduced to the background of the project and all four project results were presented in detail.

Following this, the Bachelor Professional program of WIFI Steiermark was introduced by Ms. Freisacher MSc., highlighting the planned integration of Micro Credentials into the curriculum. The insightful presentations sparked lively discussions, seamlessly transitioning into a vibrant exchange of ideas. As the demand for coffee grew stronger than the need for discussion, we took a brief break.

Post-break, Stefanie Gugganig from bit schulungscenter presented the project results of "IQ-DigitS: Digitalization of Micro Credentials." The final official program point was a report by Dr. Kreuzer from TU Graz, sharing his practical experience with Micro Credentials.

After a short Q&A session, attendees enjoyed drinks and finger food, which facilitated networking opportunities. The event was a resounding success, fostering meaningful connections and insightful discussions around the future of Micro Credentials.
